While providing data on overall trends in drug treatment admissons, because it does not include private facilities that do not receive fedeal funding this data does not provide comprehensive totals on all admissions for drug treatment in the United States.

Syn. Opiates: Synthetic Opiates, manufactured as prescripton painkillers, including, for example, such drugs as Oxycontin, Vicodin, and Dilaudid. Also known as Synthetic Narcotics in Uniform Crime Reporting Program data on arrests for drug offenses.

Meth.: Methamphetamine.

Drugs not listed: These include: Heroin, Non-Prescription Methadone, PCP, Hallucinogens, Other Amphetamines, Other Stimulants, Benzodiazepines, Other Tranquilizers, Barbiturates, Other Sedatives Or Hypnotics, Inhalants, and Over-the-Counter Medications.
